The Nankai District has reportedly signed an agreement with Shenzhen South China Hotel Management Company to renovate Kaili Mansion to be the first 5A green hotel in Tianjin.
This hotel will be renamed the South China Haitian Hotel and will be re-opened by May 2008.
Kaili Mansion is located in Nankai District and was originally an office building. After finishing the renovation, the hotel will be equipped with new energy conservation facilities to take full advantage of natural light and air to adjust indoor temperatures. In addition, the hotel will only purchase vegetables and fruits in accordance with green environmental protection standards. They will also strictly control the disposable of goods in order to avoid waste and pollution.
The hotel will also push guests to turn off the light or air conditioning when not in use and save water by possibly offering discounts. The hotel aims at a 55-65% reduced energy consumption over traditional star hotels.
