Following the U.S. recall of China-made colorful bead toys, China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China has halted the export of such toys.

On November 8, the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the United States recalled 4.2 million pieces of colorful bead toys reportedly exported from China because they were found to contain harmful chemicals that are dangerous to children after being swallowed. After hearing about the recalling of the toys, AQSIQ immediately conducted an investigation on the relevant manufacturers and products.

AQSIQ's preliminary investigation shows that the toys concerned used a brand of Australian Moose Company, which is responsible for providing the sample of the colorful beads, and was operated by Hong Kong Daoyuan Co., Ltd and manufactured by Shenzhen Wangqi Products Factory. As the product uses poisonous softening agents harmful to children, AQSIQ decided to stop the export of the toys immediately.

AQSIQ is reportedly contacting the U.S. side to request relevant medical testing methods and report on whether any consumers have been harmed in order to make a further assessment.
