The Shanghai International Energy-saving and Environment-friendly Park, the first business zone in China housing energy-saving and environmental protection companies, has been formally unveiled in Baoshan, Shanghai.
As the first of its kind of China, the 500,000-square-meter zone is actually located in and around the Shanghai Ferroalloy Factory, a former energy consumption giant in Shanghai, and it is designed to form an industry chain with annual business revenue of up to RMB20 billion.
Energy-saving and environmental protection have become fashionable concepts favored by Shanghai's traditional manufacturers. A steel sculpture park featuring artwork created from waste steel will also be positioned in the new park.
