Jiangsu Invests RMB7 Million On Afforestation Of Railway

According to Jiangsu Province's Plan on Railway Green Channel Construction from the 11th Five-year Period to 2020, Jiangsu will further improve the afforestation standard for major railways and build a green corridor that benefits the environment.
A representative from Jiangsu Provincial Railway Office told the media at a press coference that the construction of the railway green channel was designed to promote the province's railway construction and environmental sustainability. Jiangsu hopes to build a high standard railway green channel network that can match modern railway construction and has unique characteristics of Jiangsu.
It is estimated that by 2020, there will be 3489 kilometers of railway in Jiangsu Province that will be covered by the afforestation plan and the entire area of afforestation will reach 280000 mu. The whole project will involve up to RMB700 million of investment.
