Super 8 China has donated RMB100,000 and the staff from Super 8 China additionally donated over RMB20,000 for the Sichuan area impacted by the recent earthquake and aftershocks.
Super 8 Hotel Zhenjiang Mai Sha, which is the first direct-owned hotel of Super 8 in the world, also claims it was the first hotel in the hospitality industry who passed their donation to the China Red Cross Association of Zhengjiang. At the same time, Super 8 China sent out donation letters to 69 opened franchised hotels, suggesting that all the franchised hotels should set up donation boxes and try their best to contribute to all the victims who are suffering from the earthquake.
Mitchell A. Presnick, Super 8 China chairman and CEO, said in a prepared statement, "We are very concerned about this massive earthquake in China. Even though we are an American Brand, 'Super 8 loves China', we are a family, the donated money is not much, but I think if everybody works together and if everybody sends love to victims who are suffering from the earthquake, we will overcome it!"
