Zheng Jie, president and general manager of China Mobile's Shanghai subsidiary, completed a 200-meter relay of the Olympic torch on May 23 heralded by a cheering team made up of Shanghai Mobile's employees and members of Shanghai Cancer Recovery Club.
To help cancer patients realize their dream of watching the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, Shanghai Mobile raised money for 200 door tickets to the games despite the shortage of the tickets and donated them to SCRC. The company also set up a team of 200 volunteers to offer assistance to the cancer patients so that they can gain more information about the Olympics.
Shanghai Mobile says it will make use of its own advantage in technology and service and build a bridge for the special groups to communicate and experience the Olympic events.
