London, United Kingdom (March 03, 2009) /ChinaNewswire.com/ — Asia is leading the way with the roll out of miniature home base stations, termed femtocells, which will increase coverage and data rate for home and office users of 3G mobile phone networks.
Softbank (Japan) and Starhub (Singapore) have already launched commercial services and most major operators in the region are completing user trials of this latest 'home network' technology and are likely to launch later this year.
The 2009 Femtocells Asia Conference, run by Avren Events is the only conference to be endorsed by the Femto Forum (the industry standards body for femtocells with over 100 global members). In partnership with Softbank Mobile, the conference will be the first public event of its kind to have femotcell enabled 3G coverage. Industry leaders from Softbank, China Mobile, Korea Telecom, SK Telecom, Mobile One and Chunghwa Telecom will be presenting their vision for femtocells in Asia and key vendors will be demonstrating their latest femtocell products and services in the accompanying exhibition.
