Cucumbers Taste Good In Shanghai

The Product Quality and Food Safety Special Team of the State Council has checked and accepted Shanghai's efforts on food safety while inspecting nine units within the city.

When inspecting Sunqiao Modern Agriculture Garden, Li Changjiang, director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China and vice team leader of PQFSSTSC, ate two cucumber that had not been washed when he learned that the cucumbers had been grown without any fertilizer or pesticide. According to local media, he commented highly of their quality.

The inspection team also reportedly checked the sanitation licenses, stock bills and invoices of the stalls at Wuding Vegetable Market in Qing'an District. They gave positive comments on the performance of almost all the units they checked, but told them to continue to make efforts in improving their product quality and safety.
