Xinhua reports that the Three Gorges Project's planned dam walls should be completed by May, in time to help during the summer flood season.

When finished, the dam will tower to a height of 185 meters, high enough to withstand the 156 meters of water expected after the flood season.

12 more turbogenerators are planned on the southern bank in 2007 and 2008, according to the general manager of the project.

The Three Gorges Project started in 1993 and will cost nearly US$21.7 billion. The dam should be totally finished in 2009.
