Some automatic water supply machines have appeared in the communities and streets around Beijing.
Citizens can deposit coins into the machines and purchase purified water. Named Comjion Automatic Water Supply, these machines are more than two meters high and carry detailed instructions on how consumers can use them. The charging standard is RMB0.2 per kiloliter, which is much cheaper than the other kinds of purified water.
The water machines are being unveiled as part of a franchising program where shopkeepers can purchase rights to maintina the machines. The water supplied has been strictly sterilized and purified. So far, many of them have been installed in communities in Beijing to offer convenience to the residents.
