Jiang Weixin, deputy director of the Ministry of Construction of China, said that MC would take three measures to explore new ways to solve the housing problem for the middle and low income families.

MC is said to have made the solving of housing difficulties for middle and low income families one of its most important tasks in the coming years, according to remarks made by Jiang at a press conference.

According to Jiang, there are two main ways to solve the housing problem for the poor. One of it is to build price-controlled apartments and the other is to construct budget rental apartments. For low income families, MC will focus on building some low-rent apartments and economical apartments.

Jiang said that stabilizing housing prices is one of the important tasks of MC in 2008. He said that MC would strengthen the management of house prices by better home construction planning, home supply structure adjustments, and real estate enterprise access management.
