A week after the Sichuan earthquake, Hurun Research Institute has published the "2008 Philanthropy List", including a report on earthquake donations by China's richest citizens.

The report says that eight of the top ten richest on the 2007 Hurun rich list have made a total donation of RMB160 million for the earthquake victims. In addition, 45 entrepreneurs of the top 100 richest have donated RMB637 million to the earthquake.

The figures in the report are mainly from China's official websites or portal websites, but they do not include donations made by the richest through other channels. For example, the report does not cover Zhang Yin, the second richest on the 2007 list, though Zhang's company has made donations to the disaster area.
