Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety has advised consumers not to drink a batch of J.P. Chenet Cabernet/Syrah du Pays d'Oc red wine of 2006 which might contain glass fragments.

The CFS also appealed to the liquor trade to stop selling the product. The French red wine is sold in quarter-liter bottles carrying lot number L70927203 and EAN (European Article Number) bar code number 3263286324216. A CFS spokesman said the appeal was made as Swiss authorities alerted consumers about possible glass fragments in the wine.

"We have contacted the relevant authorities for further information. We have also alerted the trade and local distributors about the incident, and are closely monitoring the situation," the spokesman said.
