From December 15, 2007, Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi will recall 169 Pajero SUV cars that were manufactured between November 10 and November 24, 2004, and in the meantime, Hunan Chang Feng Motor will also recall 10152 Changfeng Pajero cars with serial numbers FA2031A/B/C/D/E/F that were made between December 16, 2004 and February 9, 2007.

The vehicles will be recalled mainly because of the improper molding around the engine cover, which reportedly might cause a rupture of the R section of the hasp and a possible opening of the engine cover that will affect safe driving.

Both Mitsubishi and Chang Feng Motor say that they will replace the engine covers of the concerned vehicles with an improved version free of charge to eliminate any possible risks.

The parties will advise their relevant car owners from December 15 about the recall and ask them to go to the repair stations located most conveniently to them to get a free change of the engine cover.
