CNTA: Travel Agencies Responsible For Fake Brands

Chinese tourists have been punished by some foreign customs agencies for wearing fake brand clothing, so the China National Tourism Administration now says that Chinese travel agencies should be responsible when their tourists are punished for wearing counterfeit clothing in foreign countries.

A representative from CNTA says that travel agencies have the responsibility to remind tourists not to wear fake brand clothes before they depart for outbound travel.

Travel agencies in Beijing, including China Travel Service, China Youth Travel Service and Beijing Caissa Travel Service, each have begun reminding people joining their tourist groups to not wear any fake brands.

However, some senior citizens quoted in local media claim that they do not know which brands are famous when they buy the clothes and are unsure how to tell fake from genuine clothing.
