Unilever China has announced that it has won the Sohu China Green Gold Award: being one of six companies selected from 106 participating companies.

The first ever China Green Gold Award is based on three metrics: environmental protection; social welfare; and economic development. The judging of the award was based on a thorough analysis covering 12 different aspects of the companies' operations: including corporate sustainability strategy, organizational key performance index, and sustainable investment.

The three-month judging of the China Green Gold Award included two main parts, reviews by experts and and votes by netizens. With 106 companies nominated by netizens, over 300,000 people voted on SOHU's website for the most sustainable company in their opinion.

The China Green Gold concept is intended to represent harmony between economic development and environmental protection.
