Atlas Copco Opens Chinese LEED Factory In Wuxi

Atlas Copco has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in China to produce high-efficiency compressors and generators, meeting the growing demand for such industrial equipment throughout Asia.

The new plant, located in Wuxi in the Jiangsu province, will manufacture small and medium-sized industrial air compressors, and portable diesel and electric-driven compressors and generators.

The investment for the plant, which includes a test lab and an R&D center, amounts to approximately RMB160 million. The facility is expected to employ about 280 people. The plant is built according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standard for sustainable site development.

Including the Wuxi plant, Stockholm-based Atlas Copco says it now operates 16 manufacturing facilities and 236 offices in China and has approximately 5,700 employees in the country.
