HP Sets Up MDP China Operation Center

China Hewlett-Packard, together with Youth Business China, has set up the HP Microenterprise Development Program China Operation Center to accelerate the development of MDP in Mainland China.

Through MDP, HP Global supports nonprofit organizations that have a primary focus on providing development programs and services to microenterprises in deprived communities. HP MDP was first introduced in China in 2007, now has a total investment of over CNY10 million. It has already set up 21 HP Microenterprise Development Centers and supporting classrooms and supplies of teaching materials via public service organizations such as Youth Business China; the China Association for Employment Promotion; and Fuping Development Institute; to assist unemployed rural labor, college students, and migrant workers set up as self employed.

Aside from the support for entrepreneurs and microenterprises HP Global offered previously, the HP MDP China Operation Center will build a program development platform satisfying local needs.

YBC has been cooperating with HP since 2006. It now has 18 local offices in China and together with China HP has established 12 HP Microenterprise Development Centers in nine provinces.

China HP launched the HP Entrepreneur Incubator Project in 2006 to support development of microenterprise and youth business. The HP MDP, introduced in China into China in 2007, is now the core program of the project.
