The National Forestation Commission, the China Ministry of Forestry, and China Green Foundation jointly held a press conference on Tree-planting Day to announce the launch of the Eco-China Website at Eco.gov.cn.
In the meantime, the parties have launched an initiative based on the objectives of China's ecological community. They have also set up an Eco-China Work Commission to hold events surrounding the Eco-China annual award, green outings, and green citizenship, to drive eco-civilization.
Zhou Youliang, vice chairman of China Green Foundation, said that the global eco-crisis has become even more serious and this is something that every person worldwide should take seriously. Zhou said that the Eco-China activities will play an important role in the realization of sustainable development and they hope that more organizations and individuals will join in this campaign.
