The Consumer Electronic Products office of the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce recently released its 2008 China Mobile Communications Terminal Product Market Competition Analysis Report, showing that CECC has received complaints involving 51 cellphone brands from January to June 2008.

Of these 99% are within the guarantee period, with problems focusing on product quality and after-sales service.

Complaints about poor quality of phone calls, automatic shutdown and blank screen are among the most.

According to 315ts.net, Nokia got the most complaints at 42% — about 35% higher than Motorola who ranked second.

Nokia said the figure didn't mean a high failure rate for Nokia cellphones. Now Nokia occupies a market share of 40% in China, hence the higher complaint rate.
