Shanghai GM has announced that it will recall 511 imported Cadillac Escalades manufactured between August 29, 2006 and November 14, 2007.

According to an announcement from Shanghai GM, a short circuit could take place in the windscreen cleaning fluid heater circuit leading to electrical faults and even cause a fire.

Rectification of the recalled products will be taken in two steps due to a shortage of spare parts. First, the windscreen cleaning fluid heater will be disconnected to eliminate hidden dangers; and second, free replacement and installation will be carried out once the spare parts are ready, and the heating function will be restored.

Shanghai GM Cadillac after sales service centers will get in touch with the owners and arrange for the free maintenance. Shanghai GM's toll-free customer service hotline 8008201902 will also provide consulting and reservation services.

Shanghai GM has submitted a recall report to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
