Environmental Protection School Set Up In Yinchuan

A citizens' environmental protection school has been formally unveiled at the No. 4 Primary School of Xingqing District, Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and is the first of its kind in the city.

It is learned that the establishment of the environment protection school is part of the Science and Technology Week of Yinchuan and it aims to raise the public's environmental awareness, enrich their knowledge of energy conservation and emission control and draw their attention and concern to environmental protection.

Jointly established by departments including Yinchuan Municipal Environment Protection Bureau and Yinchuan Municipal Education Bureau, the school features teachers who are college student volunteers and environmental experts to help citizens learn about the ecological environment of Yinchuan as well as how undertake green decoration and identify green food.

It is said that Yinchuan plans to set up five citizens' environmental protection schools this year and build a total of 30 by the end of 2010 in the hope of attracting more citizens to join in actions to protect the environment.
