China's First Non-grain Bio-energy Center Unveiled In Guangxi

A non-grain bio-energy technology research center, which is said to be the first of its kind in China, has been unveiled in Nanning, the capital city of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

It is reported that that, based on the nation's development plan on energy and food safety the center will focus on the study of non-grain crops such as tapioca, sugar cane, and sweet sorghum; carry out technology studies; encourage achievement; develop industry demonstrations and technology services; and provide advanced technology support for industry development as well as encouraging the rapid and sustainable development of China's non-grain crop industry.

It is learned that by relying on the technology advantages of the Guangxi Academy of Science, and through cooperating with local universities, research institutes and affiliated companies, the center aims to be a R&D base for the non-grain biology energy industry in China.
