The Dongguan Civil Affairs Bureau and Dongguan Charity Federation have jointly launched a special charity fund to offer free medical aid to poor women.

Under the program, poor women can apply for a CNY1,000 to CNY2,000 fund support with the fund management office located at Nanhua Women's Hospital, which has been designated as the only party to carry out the program. In addition, disabled women living on low social insurance payment can apply for cover of 50% of their medical expenses; poor pregnant women can apply for relief of the fees for the delivery of their child; those who live on extreme poverty can apply for free checkups and surgery; and companies can apply for a free group checkup for their employees.

To date, the fund has provided free checkups for more than 2,000 women and offered medical aid to about 60 women patients.
