Hainan's Department of Marine and Fishery has revoked the right of Palm Beach Resort Sanya to use the seashore due to the resort failing to manage the beach properly.

The department convened a meeting with 14 hotels which had acquired the right of using the beach. At the meeting, department director Zhang Huazhong spoke of problems identified during a special check on the sanitation situation of Sanya Bay. Zhang said that because of the improper management of the beach, Palm Beach Resort Sanya's right to use the seashore would be canceled.

The department asked each hotel to strictly abide by the rules when using the seashore and work diligently on the sanitation and security of the seashore they use. The department said that it will cancel the right to use the seashore if the hotels fail to do so.

Palm Beach Resort Sanya is reported to be the first hotel in Sanya whose right to use the seashore has been revoked.
