AES Corporation, the global power company, and China Investment Corporation recently said that their non-binding letter of intent for a 35% stake in AES Wind Generation expired at the end of June 2010.

The agreement for the USD571-million investment from China Investment was signed on November 6, 2009.

The U.S.-based power company and the Chinese investor may resume discussions in the light of clarification of the renewable energy legislation in the U.S.

Established in 2007, China Investment is the country's USD300-billion sovereign wealth fund.
