According to U.S. billionaire Warren Buffett, Chinese electric-car manufacturer BYD Company is expected to play a key role in the future of new energy technology.

Buffett paid his first official visit to BYD in Shenzhen recently, and attended a series of events organized by BYD. In 2008, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, a subsidiary of Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, bought a 10% stake in BYD for USD 230 million.
