NDRC Plans To Establish Energy Saving Center

The Chinese National Development and Reform Commission has announced that the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform has approved the setting up of a National Energy Saving Center to offer technical support for the government.

The main duties of the Energy Saving Center will include: undertaking policy research, regulations, planning, management systems for energy saving; undertaking the energy assessment of fixed-asset investment projects commissioned by relevant government departments; and taking charge of the promotion of energy saving technologies and products.

In addition, the center will also be responsible for training and consulting services on energy saving, the management of energy efficiency labels, and international exchange and cooperation on energy saving.
