China MOH Promotes System For Health Supervision In Public Places

The Chinese Ministry of Health has formulated a Directive for Quantitative Classification Management for Health Supervision in Public Places, which outlines the how management model for health supervision in public places will transformed to a managing degrees of risk.

The MOH mandates that local health administrative departments establish effective mechanisms for the quantitative classification system. Provincial departments are to draw up specific implementation plans and practical quantitative criteria and strengthen technical guidance to local departments. Health supervisors should master the specific criteria and requirements through careful training.

The system will be implemented step by step, according to the ministry. Promoting the quantitative classification system in the lodging sector will be the main task in 2009. By the end of December, 2009, at least 50% of the lodging sectors in provincial capital cities, and at least 40% of the sectors in other cities should adopt the system.
