Progress has been made on the incident of the un-approved rabies vaccine produced by Dalian Jingang Andi Bio-products Company.
According to China's Xinhua News Agency, the State Food and Drug Administration has decided on the penalty to be imposed on DJABC which was reported to produce an unapproved drug by using nucleic acid in rabies vaccine for human use. It says that the company's business license will be revoked and its main principals will not be allowed to engage in drug production and operation for ten years.
In February 2009, Yan Jiangying, a representative of SFDA, stated that 11 batches of rabies vaccine for human use made by DJABC in 2008 had been identified with nucleic acid and the agency asked the company to recall all those batches of rabies vaccine it produced in the year.
