China Southern Airlines has made a new rule which says that passengers who fall sick can get a full refund of their airfare if they can produce a doctor's certificate.

According to the Chinese airline company's new rule, passengers who want to return a ticket due to illness can get a full refund of the value of the air ticket if the air ticket has not been used. If they have used the air ticket for some sectors, they will get a refund for the value of the remaining sectors covered by the ticket. China Southern says that passengers need to complete the refund formalities with the agent bought the air ticket from and they will not be charged any service fee for this.

China Southern says that passengers need to bring a diagnosis certificate issued by a hospital above the county level which states that they are not able to travel by air on a particular flight. They also need to produce an original copy or a photocopy of a receipt which shows that they have spent more than CNY100 at the hospital for their illness when they go to return their air ticket.

In addition, companions of the sick passenger must present a photocopy of the sick passenger's air ticket and the photocopy of relevant certificates if they also need to return a ticket.
