Guangdong Sets Up Network Culture Association

The Guangdong Provincial Network Culture Association has been formally set up in Guangzhou to help guide the development of the Internet industry and strengthen self-discipline among Internet users.

Ouyang Nongyue, president of southcn.com, has been elected as councilor of the association which features 99 member websites.

The purpose for establishing the association is to strengthen ties among the network culture industries of Guangdong province and promote self-discipline in the industry.

Lin Xiong, the head of the Publicity Department of Guangdong Committee of CPC, said that the establishment of the association is part of the measures being taken to improve Guangdong's cultural strength. Li hoped that the association will regard developing advanced culture as its mission and help promote the healthy development of the network culture industry and increase the competitiveness and influence of key websites in Guangdong, among many of its other tasks like guiding self-discipline among Internet enterprises and Internet users and building an efficient platform for communication and exchange among the parties concerned.
