According to China's quality watchdog, the U.S.-based auto giant General Motors Corporation has announced that its China subsidiary will recall several models of imported vehicle in China due to faulty windshield washer fluid systems.
According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine website, GM China says that in some extreme cases the faulty windshield washer fluid system may lead to fires.
The recall, which is part of a global recall by GM, involves imported models of Buick Lucerne, Cadillac DTS, and Hummer H2 made between 2006 and 2009; Cadillac Escalade ESV and EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Saturn Outlook made from 2007 to 2009; as well as the Chevrolet Traverse made in 2009.
GM China says the recall started on July 26, 2010 but it has not revealed the number of vehicles involved.
