Bank Of Beijing Releases 2007 CSR Report
The Bank of Beijing has released its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Report at a press conference to mark the first anniversary of its public listing and to unveil the progress the bank has made in the past year.
The bank reports that as a joint-stock commercial bank, it has made remarkable achievements in supporting the development of SMEs environmental credit. It is the first to work with the government for small secured loans; the first city commercial bank to sign cooperative agreement on energy saving and emission reduction with the International Finance Corporation; one of the first financial institutions to participate in the funding of Beijing cultural creative industry and financial capital; and one of the first banks to cooperate with Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park on the Gazelle Project for the secured loans of high-growth enterprises.
By the end of 2007, the bank had paid taxes of CNY6,351,810,000, and had been active in public welfare with donations of over CNY20 million — in addition to its employees' donations.
