Yili Group has announced funds of CNY5 million to support the sports development of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, of which CNY1.3 million will be awarded to participants in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The director of Inner Mongolia Sports Administration Shi Mei stated that Yili's donation will not only encourage athletes who participate in the Olympics, but also popularize national fitness. She also hoped that more enterprises would pay attention to sports.

Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd. is a major enterprise in China's dairy industry. As the only dairy sponsor for the Beijing Games, for each gold medal Chinese delegation has won, Yili will put CNY200,000 into Healthy China Plan for the health development of Chinese youth and teenagers. And the initiative is said to go with the Olympic Games for every four years. Healthy China is the corporate social responsibility system set up by the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Chinese Olympic Committee.
