Beijing Municipal Commission of Education has exposed 25 private colleges that have been involved in illegally recruiting of students and revealed the tricks these colleges often used in marketing themselves.

The 25 private colleges include Beijing Geely University, Beijing Xinghua University, Beijing Zhuoda Economic Management Institute, Beijing Zhongshan University, East Art College, Beijing Renwen University, Beijing Huangpu University, Beijing Baway Education, Beijing University of Finance and Economics, and the University of Modern Administration. These schools were accused of misguiding students and their parents with credit education and non-credit education; setting up subsidiaries without approval and advertising for and recruiting students without being approved by the education department.

BMCE asks these schools to rectify these faults immediately. It also says it will check the General Enrollment Regulations and advertisements of all the private institutions of higher learning and punish those that are involved in false advertising or recruiting students without approval from the education authority.
