Jaguar Land Rover Recalls Defective Cars In China

According to the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, from August 28, 2009, Jaguar Land Rover Auto Trade (Shanghai) Company Ltd. is recalling some imported Discovery 3 cars in China because of brake and engine flaws.

It is reported that a total of 1,069 Discovery 3 cars have been sold in Chinese mainland. Of these, 214 are Discovery 3 diesel-fueled SUVs made by between June 2007 and May 2008. Due to a flaw in the diesel engine, these cars may catch fire in some extreme cases.

The manufacturer has said it will replace the defective parts for consumers free of charge.

Owners of the these cars can go to their nearest maintenance center authorized by the manufacturer for a check and replacement, or can call 800-820-0187 for more information.
