Chinese e-commerce and auction website Taobao.com has launched an initiative based on TaobaoOpenPlatform to provide funds to support software developers in China.

In addition, Taobao will start a program targeting its business partners to assist them in developing software at Taobao.com to win more market space. Taobao says that it hopes to attract more outstanding developers to demonstrate their talent at TOP and realize their dreams of starting businesses. The company, which is a subsidiary of Alibaba.com, has not revealed the amount of funds it plans to set aside for this program.

TOP is one of the first e-commerce open platforms in China. By sharing various e-commerce services and application programs, it provides a whole set of e-commerce solutions and standard work flows. According to Wang Wenbin, vice president of TOP, since the platform was put into trial use in June this year, it has attracted more than 10000 registered users who have submitted over a thousand new application programs.

This new network interactive pattern directly connects developers with users and it should stimulate the evolution of Internet technology for the company.
