Six Chinese Provinces Work Together To Ensure Food Safety

The agricultural departments of six provinces in central China have jointly signed an agreement on the quality and safety of farm products, and they will also set up a mechanism to mutually report the on supervision of agricultural products to determine the root cause of substandard products.

The six provinces are Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Henan, Shaanxi, and Anhui, all of which are large agricultural provinces in China.

According to the agreement, agricultural product quality and safety reports issued by any agriculture department above the county level of the six provinces will be recognized and accepted by all cities in other provinces. And when a substandard agricultural product is identified in one of the provinces, the rest of the provinces will take joint action to crack down the this product.

In addition, the six provinces will work in such areas as the construction of a unified agricultural product access mechanism, cooperate on agricultural product quality training, jointly promote quality agricultural products and exchanging views on agricultural product test and supervision.
