According to the website of the Ministry of Culture, the ministry has just published a white book on the Chinese online games market and will soon promulgate and enact a new regulation on the management of the sector.

The Chinese Online Games Market White Book 2009 reviews the general situation of the Chinese online games market and outlines a map for the sector's future development and management. It is expected to play an active role in regulating the country's online games market and promoting the development of the industry.

In addition, the ministry says that it will make 2010 a year for the adjustment of online games. It states that it will further consummate relevant rules and policies in 2010 and to this end it will promulgate and enact the Online Game Management Regulation to regulate the computer games market and protect teenagers' health. In addition it will improve the relevant games rules and adjust the games product structure on the basis of the self-restraint mechanism, upgrading both service quality and enterprise image.

The ministry adds that it will coordinate with the departments concerned to strengthen the development of the online games industry and guide the computer games industry in achieving a comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development between the industry and society.
