China's Sanya Rectifies Day Tours

From June 11, 2010 the Sanya Tourism Development Committee, in conjunction with transport and security departments, is launching special rectification actions for day-tours.

The committee has held discussions on a draft day tour tourism contract, and has collated comments from tourism enterprises on clauses of the contract text.

It is learned that it is quite common for there to be no signed contracts in the Sanya day-tour market and this leads to a lack of protection for tourist's legitimate rights and interests when there is dispute. Signing day-tour tourism contract not only protects the legitimate rights of tourists and tourism enterprises, but also track down illegal travel agencies that pass themselves off as legal operations by using other agencies' names when operating day tours.

The committee will publish the list of tourism enterprises that are qualified to operate day tour in several batches through newspapers and the Internet to guide tourists to join day tours organized by legal travel agencies.
