Phase II of Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd.'s new energy bus project has been now finished and put into production with an investment of CNY230 million.
Foton's new energy bus range includes hybrid buses and fuel cell buses. Before the project was completed, the zero-emission fuel cell buses were put into service for the Beijing Olympic Games.
Phase II of the project has focused on technical improvements starting from June 28, 2007.
According to the Beiqi Foton's bus business development strategy, by 2010 the annual sales volume of large- and medium-sized bus will reach 5,000 units, annual sales will be CNY2 billion, profit will be CNY80 million, and market share will grow to 4.5% ranking Foton No 6 in the industry.
