Huaneng Power Gets Approval For Huaneng Jinling Phase II Project

Huaneng Power International, has announced that the project for a 1,000MW domestic ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit at Huaneng Jinling Power Plant Phase II has recently been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The project at Huaneng Jinling Power Plant Phase II will concurrently install high-performance electrostatic precipitators, flue-gas desulphurization and denitrification facilities, and a flue-gas continuous emission monitoring system. It is reported that the emission indices at the power plant will satisfy the environmental protection requirements of the State.

The total investment amount of the project is estimated to be approximately CNY5.16 billion, of which 20% is equity capital to be funded by the company, by Jiangsu Guoxin Asset Management Group, and by Nanjing Municipal Investment Company in the respective proportions of 60%, 30% and 10%. The remaining investment will be funded by bank loans.

Huaneng Power International, Inc. has a total generating capacity of 37,593MW on an equity basis and a controlling installed generation capacity of 40,989MW. The Company wholly owns sixteen operating power plants, an operating power company, and has controlling interests in thirteen operating power companies and minority interests in five operating power companies. Currently, it is one of the largest listed power producers in China.
