Beijing: Culinary Skill Competition Supports Project Hope

090713-beijing-culinary-comFourteen IHG hotels in Beijing combined to provide support to Project Hope by organizing the fifth annual "Cuisine for a Cause" culinary skill competition. Over 160 chefs and bartenders took part in the event this year, with a panel of judges, that included Dai Ai Qun, the dining consultant of the CCTV Economic Channel, and Xu Long, the executive chef of the Western-style Food Department of the Great Hall of the People. Students from Project Hope Schools were also invited and provided entertainment during the award ceremony The competition raised CNY450,000 and this will be used to build an IHG Hope School in a rural area. This is the third Project Hope School that has been funded by IHG Beijing Cluster Hotels, and one of 12 IHG Hope Schools in China that will be completed by the end of this year.
