China's Ministry Of Education Forms Emergency Team

China's Ministry of Education has established an expert team to provide consulting services in the event of public emergencies.

Consisting of 22 experts from major institutions of higher learning such as Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiaotong University, the team will be responsible for seven main areas involving natural disasters, accidents and catastrophes, public health, social security, network and information security, examination safety, and comprehensive management.

The main functions of the team include making a study of the emergency management of the education system and putting forward solutions and suggestions; participating in the evaluation of and response to major public emergencies, providing professional guidance and support to emergency management, participating in the compilation and revision of educational emergency measures, participating in relevant training and academic exchange, and research and cooperation.

Hao Ping, the vice minister of the Ministry of Education, said with more than 270 million students, China's education department faces a major task in emergency management.
